Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

We are a home based bakery located on the Louisiana/Texas State Line. We serve Caddo Parish, Bossier Parish, parts of DeSoto Parish in Louisiana and Panola County and Harrison County in Texas. We can provide service outside these areas for an additional deliver fee.

What does it mean to be home based?

We are able to legally operate under state cottage laws following the laws, rules and regulations established by State Lawmakers. We also have a food handler’s training and certification including COVID guidelines, we have State required labels, our LLC and we are an insured business. We take our business very seriously to provide the best experience possible.

What are your prices?

As most of our designs are custom, there are no set prices. Prices are based on cake flavors, number of people served, decorations and intricacy of design. 3D, sculpted and standing structures will be higher due to the complexity of structure and design. With the exception of smash cakes, all cakes begin at $110, decorated cookies begin at $60 per dozen, and cupcakes begin at $36/dozen. Please fill out the order form for a quote on your celebration cake.

How soon should I order?

Because our bakery is owned and operated by one person, there are a limited number of orders per week that can be filled. Availability is on a first come, first paid basis. I typically book 2-4 weeks in advance. Contact me as soon as you know your event date to check availability. **Please understand I will try my best to accommodate last minute orders.  There may will be an additional rush fee to work the order into my calendar.  t

Do you deliver? Can I pick up?

We provide free delivery and set up on all cake orders since special transportation is needed. We also provide free delivery for orders over $100. All other orders that do not meet the minimum requirement, we will meet for pickup at a convenient location for the customer and us. (Unless specified on our website)

What is the payment process?

Full payment is due to secure your spot on the calendar.  Once details are confirmed, you will receive an invoice.  Payment needs to me made within 72 hours of receiving the invoice.  If payment is not received or arrangements made, the invoice will be null and void.  All dates are considered open until the signed contract and payment is received. Because our bakery is owned and operated by one person, there are a limited number of orders per week that can be filled. Availability is on a first come, first paid basis. Until your payment  is received, dates remain open to other orders who may pay their retainer first. I typically book 2-4 weeks in advance.

**Procedures for wedding cakes are different since they typically are booked well in advance.  A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to secure your order and the balance is due 30 days prior to your wedding.  The exception is wedding booked within 60 days of the date.  Those will require full payment.

Do you provide consultations?

Consultations for two people are available for events ordering a minimum of 75 servings of cake and are available by pre-scheduled appointment for a $55 prepaid consultation fee. Appointments last approximately 30 minutes, while you taste complimentary cake samples and I will design a cake specifically for you and your needs. We will discuss your style, number of servings, colors and overall feeling for your cake design. Once I have those details, I can begin customizing and sketching your cake. I can also provide a quote for your order. **I can also provide virtual consultations with a tasting box.

How do I know the number of servings?

Industry standard cake servings that are used as guidelines for cutting and serving are 1” wide x 2” deep and 4” tall. It is better to overestimate and have leftover cake than underestimate and run out of cake. Popular cake sizes serve the following based on the standard guidelines listed above:

6” round = 10 servings (these are also used for Smash Cakes)

8” round = 24 servings

10” round = 40 servings

12” round = 54 servings

Are you an allergen free kitchen?

Although we follow the State guidelines for food handling, we are not an allergen free kitchen which means that there may be cross contamination with ingredients and utensils. We do have food labels with the required allergens listed and this will also be on your invoice. It is up to the customer to notify us of any allergies that are present.

Customer Satisfaction:

I take great pride in my work and am in business solely to provide you excellence in taste, service and art. Once a cake has been delivered or picked up by you or a designated party it is considered “accepted” and a waiver must be signed. All product is the responsibility of the customer once it has been accepted.

It is my pleasure to provide custom work of art for you and your loved ones! Thank you for choosing Royalty Sweet Shoppe, LLC.
